History courses:
Two courses, World History & U.S. History*, are offered in 3 versions:
Honors
Track I (college prep.)
Track II (the basic course, which I bill as "history for non-historians")
History courses include online interaction with the instructor, lessons
to make history come alive for students, plus a study guide for the
final exam. New for 2007-2008: video lectures and online discussions
covering critical thinking questions and lessons in history (practical
application).
Tuition rates for the 2007-2008 academic year (all tracks):
$175 Early registration (Jan. 1 through April 15, 2007)*
$200 Regular registration (April 16 through August 5, 2007)*
$225 Late registration (Aug. 6 through Sept. 30, 2007)*
*These rates are offered only as long as the limited number of slots
available are not filled before the end-date of the previous registration
period. Once available slots are filled, classes will be closed and a
notice will appear in this section of the homepage. Some scholarships
may be available for students with financial need.
History courses are risk-free: they include a money-back guarantee.
Click on the "World History" or "U.S. History" navigation bars in the
top, left corner of this home page for details.
Courses begin September 3rd, 2007, and end April 28th, 2008.

School Success 101:
School Success 101 is an online program, with a money-back
guarantee, which addresses:
*Study skills
*Organization
*Motivation
*Impediments to learning
There are two phases to the School Success 101 program: 1.) the
course phase and 2.) the application phase
There are two versions of School Success 101. Both include six written
lessons, video summaries of the lessons (new for 2007), short quizzes
(post-reading questions) after each lesson, activities (also new for
2007), an end of course assessment, and materials to help the parent
and student identify impediments to learning and apply the skills in
school. The two versions are:
1. A self-paced course which includes unlimited consultations with the
tutor, to aid in applying the course knowledge and skills in school.
The student takes the lessons at his or her own pace. Quizzes
(post-reading questions), activities, and end of course assessment are
evaluated by the parent and/or student (an answer key is provided
for the assessment). Cost: $50*
2. A six week course taught online by the tutor which includes
unlimited consultation privileges throughout the year. Post-reading
questions and activities are evaluated by the tutor. The end of course
assessment is proctored and scored by the parent (an answer key is
provided), to ensure secure testing conditions. Cost: $200*
*Compare these costs to the fees learning centers charge for face to
face and online tutoring. Some scholarships may be available to students
with financial need.
Both School Success 101 versions are risk-free: they include a
money-back guarantee. To see details on the guarantee, click on the
"School Success 101" navigation bar in the top left corner of this home
page.
The six week course is offered six times per year (with generous
breaks around the beginning of school, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
New Year, spring break, end of school, and July 4th). Dates for 2007
are as follows:
1. Early spring term: Feb. 19 - Apr. 1
Spring break
2. Late spring term: Apr. 16 - May 27
